Let me start by saying that I LOVE this app. This was what I used during my first attempt at couponing and it is so SIMPLE. I love that this app is available at a wide range of stores. Some of my favorites here in the indianapolis area are (Walmart in store and online, Kroger, Target, Whole foods, Trader Joes, Fresh Thyme, Aldi, Meijer, Sams Club, Costco). You will also find cash back deals at Amazon along with a long list of other retailers.
The way that this app works is different from your average coupon. Typically when you use a coupon you see the amount come off of your total price. With Ibotta you earn cash back on each deal that you clip. You have an account that keeps your current cash back earnings which you can withdraw from once your balance has surpassed $20.
If you are a planner you can search the app for deals prior to heading to the store. I have found that pre planning will always save you the most money. It is so helpful when you head to the store with a plan so that you can purchase the items that will give you the best cash back options.
Let’s be honest though, many of us do not always have time to plan out coupons and lists every time before heading to the store. If that is you don’t you worry, Ibotta allows you to earn cash back even after you have already done your shopping. You can easily pull up the app while at home and scan any item that you purchased to see if there is a cash back deal on Ibotta. If so all you have to do is click the button to add the deal to your list. Once you have clipped all of the coupons you want you can then take a picture of your receipt. (It is very important to keep your receipt. Without the receipt you are out of luck.
If you love it as much as I do, you will want to share it with your friends and family. When you invite someone to join Ibotta you will receive a $10 credit on your account the first time they use the app. That is a nice bonus for something that you would have wanted to share anyway.
